Delivery
How
Long's Carpet Delivers your Carpet!
- We ship your new floorcovering by a
common carrier freight line.
We only use responsible companies who take care of the products
and our customers.
Is the
Shipping Expensive?
Shipping is relatively cheap on
carpet, and as of now we don't have to charge you sales tax on shipments
outside of the state of Georgia. This saves you usually more than the
freight cost.
Your freight cost charges include
delivery to a business or to a freight depot closest to you and the
insurance on the freight. We can arrange delivery to your home or job
site for an additional charge. This usually ranges from $40 to $100 and
someone must be available to unload the carpet. Usually you can schedule
your installer to be there to help you accept the carpet and they can do
your install at the same time.
The following is a general cost
per square yard for shipping your carpeting. Special rates apply to
wood, vinyl and Laminates. Prices may be higher or lower depending on
access to your town. With the fluctuation in the price of fuel
recently, some shippers may add a fuel surcharge.

The rates identified in the Image
above are subject change based on the current volatility of of fuel
prices. However, these same freight rates apply in shipping
product from Dalton, Georgia carpet manufacturers to your local carpet
retailer. The manufacture of carpet is heavily dependent on
petrochemical prices and transportation costs. The savings we can
offer in (not charging) sales tax, typically offsets the costs of shipping
costs.
